Fast drying capacity chemical release agent

Designed for everyday site use, and on all types of formwork. EXTRACON XS is a highly efficient yet cost effective mould release agent, offering excellent coverage rates. Forming a physical barrier between the formwork and the concrete giving a quick and easy release with minimum blowhole formation and providing a sharp, uniform and non-stained concrete surface.

It is easily applied and may be applied to formwork immediately prior to casting without reducing the finished quality due to its fast drying capability.

Advantages

• EXTRACON XS is suitable for use with all types of formwork.
• It is a suspension and sediment free, highly mobile liquid, which can be used in very fine sprays without clogging the jets.
• Has no unpleasant odour even when using a fine fog spray.
• Very economic coverage rates can be obtained without difficulty.
• Retains its mobility at low temperatures.
• It may be applied immediately prior to casting, or treated forms may be left until apparently dry.
Widespread experience shows that treated forms can be exposed to weather for 14 days without retreatment to give the usual excellent results

• Continued use gives progressively better results on timber formwork.
• Dries in 1-2 hours to give a safe walking surface on soffits shutters which are not affected by rain.
• Can be used with either grey or white cement, also concretes containing pigments.
• Provides a quick, positive release of formwork, reducing labour costs and damage to formwork and moulds.
• Drastically reduces the incidence of blowholes, surface blemishes and staining.
• It is an effective rust inhibitor.

Application

Do Not Dilute. Apply by spray, brush or swab prior to each concrete pour, and as near to time of placement of concrete as practical conditions permit. Timber and other porous forms which have not been treated with ADOSEAL or other suitable sealers should initially be treated with a double coat of EXTRACON XS the first applied heavily and allowed to stand for maximum absorption before the second is applied in normal manner. On vertical forms any excess material accumulating at the bottom of the form should be removed.

Coverage

A thin coating spray applied to give a coverage area of between 30 to 40m2 per litre (depending upon surface porosity and ambient temperature) is recommended. Excessive application of EXTRACON XS may be detrimental to the concrete surface finish; care should therefore be taken to ensure that EXTRACON XS is applied as recommended to achieve optimum performance and maximum economy.

Storage

EXTRACON XS is based in a flammable solvent. Store in a cool, well ventilated area. Keep container tightly closed. Keep away from sources of ignition. Avoid any build-up of electrostatic charge in the immediate area. Ensure that lighting and electrical equipment nearby are not a source of ignition.

Shelf Life

Practically unlimited in sealed containers.
