SAFESTRIKE XL is an emulsified blend of natural occurring vegetable oils and polymeric surfactants producing a release agent for general site and precast yard use. It achieves a top quality concrete finish in most situations and with most common mould surfaces. Release is achieved by the formation of a physical barrier between the formwork surface and the concrete. Surfactants present within Safestrike XL help to eliminate blowholes and provide a clean, uniform and non-stained surface.

After preparation of formwork and any necessary sealing, apply thinly and uniformly by spray, brush or swab prior to each concrete pour, and as near to time of placement of concrete as practical conditions permit. Timber and other porous forms which have not been treated with ADOSEAL Plastic Formwork Coating or other suitable sealers should initially be treated with a double coat of SAFESTRIKE XL, the first applied heavily and allowed to stand for maximum absorption before the second is applied in normal manner. On vertical forms any excess material accumulating at the bottom of the form should be removed.

A recommended thin coating gives a coverage between 30 to 40m2 per litre depending upon surface porosity. Care should be taken to ensure that SAFESTRIKE XL is applied as recommended as this will achieve optimum performance and maximum economy.

SAFESTRIKE XL should be protected from frost. Containers must be kept sealed after use. The product may require mild agitation before use if stored for more than 6 months.

In excess of 12 months in sealed containers, use within 2 months of opening. Roll or agitate prior to use.

Prolonged physical contact should be avoided and personal and environmental hygiene encouraged in common with the use of all mould release agents. Where contact with skin occurs, the material should be removed with soap and water. If splashes affect eyes, they should be bathed immediately with copious quantities of clean water and if discomfort persists medical attention should be sought without delay.
