Adostrip DC

SKU: ADOSTRIP-DC

Mould Release Agent for DRY CASTING Processes

Adostrip DC is a blend of the latest surfactant chemistry, blended with traditional release oil technology to create a release agent specifically designed for dry casting operations.

The surfactant blend present within the formulation reduces the surface tension between the concrete and the formwork face allowing a quick, clean and easy release with minimum blowhole formation and providing a sharp, uniform and non-stained concrete surface.

Suitable for use on all types of formwork.

Mould Release Agent for DRY CASTING Processes

ADOSTRIP DC is a chemical release agent specifically formulated to give easy release and high quality surface finishes to concrete in dry casting applications. Fast drying capability.

Advantages

• ADOSTRIP DC is suitable for use with all types of formwork.

• It is a suspension and sediment free, highly mobile liquid, which can be used in very fine sprays without clogging the jets.
• Has no unpleasant odour even when using a fine fog spray.

• Very economic coverage rates can be obtained without difficulty.

• Retains its mobility at low temperatures.

• It may be applied immediately prior to casting, or treated forms may be left until apparently dry.

• Continued use gives progressively better results on timber formwork.
• Dries in 1-2 hours.

• Can be used with either grey or white cement, also concretes containing pigments.
• Provides a quick. positive release of formwork. reducing labour costs and damage to formwork and moulds.
• Drastically reduces the incidence of blowholes, surface blemishes and staining.

Application

Apply by spray, brush or swab prior to each concrete pour, and as near to time of placement of concrete as practical conditions permit. Timber and other porous forms which have not been treated with ADOSEAL or other suitable sealers should initially be treated with a double coat of ADOSTRIP DC; the first applied heavily and allowed to stand for maximum absorption before the second is applied in normal manner.

Long-time application and standing on vertical formwork may result in excess material sagging and collecting at the base of the formwork; this should be wiped away with a clean rag, as this can lead to de-moulding and appearance issues. Lightly re-apply to the upper section of the formwork if the coverage looks too thin.

Coverage

A thin coating spray applied to give a coverage area of between 30 to 40m2 per litre (depending upon surface porosity) is recommended. Excessive application of ADOSTRIP DC may be detrimental to the concrete surface finish; care should therefore be taken to ensure that ADOSTRIP DC is applied as recommended to achieve optimum performance and maximum economy.

Storage

ADOSTRIP DC is based in a flammable solvent. Storage should be in a cool, well-ventilated area. Keep container tightly closed. Keep away from sources of ignition. Avoid any build-up of electrostatic charge in the immediate area. Ensure that lighting and electrical equipment nearby are not a source of ignition.

Shelf Life

Practically unlimited in sealed containers.

Specification

ADOSTRIP DC mould release agent is manufactured by Adomast Manufacturing Ltd and shall be applied strictly in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. For specific advice regarding any aspect of this product please consult our Technical Department.

Health and Safety

Prolonged physical contact should be avoided and personal and environmental hygiene encouraged in common with the use of all mould release agents. Where contact with skin occurs, the material should be removed with soap and water. If splashes affect eyes, they should be bathed immediately with copious quantities of clean water and if discomfort persists, medical attention should be sought without delay.
