Hinkley Point C

Adomast have been working with distributors and contractors to supply bespoke construction chemicals to EDF Energy power station Hinkley Point C.

Many Adomast products were used on this project, though the main one that stands out is Safecure Super HPC which is a modified version of Safecure Super which was developed especially for this application to apply in very high winds.

SAFECURE SUPER – An aqueous based 90% efficiency concrete curing compound. The benefits of using Safecure Super are, reduced surface shrinkage and cracking, more durable hard wearing surface and prevention of dusting.

SAFETARD LIQUID – An environmentally safe, non-toxic and fully biodegradable WRAS approved surface retarder solution. It slows the surface set of freshly cast concrete and when washed away it exposes the surface aggregate. This is important as it creates an improved and more receptive surface for the keying of subsequent concrete pouring

ADOPATCH  – Adopatch is a cementitious powder compound with the inclusion of a polymer to promote adhesion and resistance to the passage of water and a water reducing agent to facilitate a low water : cement ratio.

ADOSEAL – Adoseal is a low viscosity, low VOC, easy to use high solids, single pack moisture cured polyurethane coating.

NATUROL CR2 – Naturol CR2 is a blend of natural vegetable oils designed for general site and precast use.

ADOCURE WW – Adocure WW is an aqueous silicate solution that reacts to deposit an integral layer of high strength crystals in the concrete pore structure.

These products along with others are in regular use during the construction of Hinkley Point C.
