Adotard TF
Aggregate Exposing Spray on Compound
Once applied to the surface of freshly cast concrete, Adotard TF slows the setting of the cement and helps provide an exposed aggregate finish, either as an attractive architectural feature or as a key for subsequent pours or renders.
Adotard TF is a water based compound which is easy to use and apply. Our standard grade will expose between 3 to 5mm of aggregate, and it will not discolour concrete.
It will retard but not kill set of cement therefore accidental contact with reinforcement will not impair bond of reinforcement to concrete nor will local over-application prevent uniform aggregate exposure.

Adotard TF has been formulated as an aqueous mobile liquid suitable for spray application to the top face of horizontally cast concrete.
Adotard TF produces an exposed aggregate finish suitable for keying a construction joint or to enable excellent bonding of subsequent coatings or toppings.
- Easily spray applied to onto fresh concrete surfaces.
- Coloured to assist with uniform application.
- Uniform depth of retardation / exposed aggregate.
- Product is non staining and suitable for all cements.
PROPERTIES
- Appearance: Brown low viscosity water based solution, Freezing point 0°c
- PH 7.5
- Specific Gravity 1.08 @ 15.5°c
- Adotard TF is water based with no flammable or toxic solvents present.
- Alleviates need for mechanical tooling / scabbling.
Adotard TF should be spray applied to fresh horizontally cast concrete at a rate of 3.5m² / litre immediately after finishing, avoid excessive trowelling of the concrete as this may seal surface and negate the retarding action. Avoid application to free standing / bleed water.
During the curing period, protect treated surface from rain and frost.
Removal should take place between 18—20 hours.
The retarder matrix should be removed by hosing / brushing to expose underlying aggregate.
Adotard TF should be spray applied by pneumatic spray equipment at the rate of 3-5m² / litre. The depth of exposure is governed by the cement content, w/c ratio, etc.
Trail casts should be assessed prior to use, NB. Certain admixtures hinder retarding action, again evaluate prior to use.
Adotard TF is supplied in sealed 5, 20, 25 or 205 litre containers. No special storage facilities needed.
Spillages should be washed down to avoid slippery surfaces. Under normal temperate and dry conditions storage life is in excess of one year.
