Adoplug
Wall Tie Filler & Sealing Compound
Adoplug is a polymer modified, fibre reinforced, ultra fine cementitious repair mortar designed specifically for plugging tie holes.
It has been designed to impart high strength, low shrinkage and cracking characteristics along with excellent chemical and weather resistance.
When mixed with water it forms a cohesive, easy to apply, shrinkage compensated compound and cures to develop a strongly bonded watertight plug to form an effective seal.

ADOPLUG is a multi-functional polymer modified, fibre reinforced, water resistant, high strength, chemical resistant, cementitious powder designed specifically for internal coating and repair of cement and concrete based surfaces, for the plugging of tie holes and for general surface repair. When mixed with clean water it forms a cohesive, easy to apply, shrinkage compensated compound and cures to develop a strongly bonded watertight plug to form a highly effective seal. Adoplug is designed for crack and patch hole repair of concrete floors, walls, pipes and holding tanks.. Also ideally suited for the repair and remedial work in farm and agricultural buildings where early access for foot and vehicular traffic and high strengths are required. Adoplug is WRAS approved
Preparation
The concrete surface to which the ADOPLUG will be in contact should be sound, free of dirt, oils and any other contaminants and well dampened down to minimise suction.
When filling holes formed by through-ties any plastic pipe remaining in the wall should either be removed or drilled back to approximately 50mm from the concrete face and then plugged with a tie stopper or similar to form a backing for compacting the ADOPLUG against.
A depth of 50mm is suitable for water heads of up to 3m. For pressures in excess of this the depth should be increased, typically by 50mm for each additional 2m until complete filling is achieved. Particular care should be taken to ensure a well keyed surface within the area under repair
Mixing
The ideal mix is of a stiff cohesive consistency and this is achieved at approximately 5 parts Adoplug to 1 part water by weight, mixing the powder gradually into the clean water. To achieve the desired consistency more water will be required in hard water areas than in soft water areas.
Application
Using a trowel or similar, place a quantity of ADOPLUG into the area under repair and compact well. For plugging a tie hole, dampen down the hole surface, fill with small amount of Adoplug and then compact thoroughly by means of a steel rod, repeating the operation until the hole is completely filled with well compacted ADOPLUG, then trowel to the required finish.
ADOPLUG will set in less than 45 minutes (at normal temperatures) so only mix as much as can be placed and finished in 20 minutes.
Curing
Due to moisture retention of the polymer no special curing procedure is generally necessary excepting in high ambient temperatures or windy conditions when it is advisable to take precaution to prevent rapid drying of the compound.
2kg will fill approximately 1m2 by 1mm deep.
Store in dry conditions and keep container sealed when not in use.
Shelf life when stored correctly is 12 months for pails and 6 months for sacks.
ADOPLUG is manufactured by Adomast Manufacturing Ltd and shall be applied strictly in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. For specific advice regarding any aspect of this product, please consult our Technical Department
Prolonged physical contact should be avoided and personal and environmental hygiene encouraged. Where contact with skin occurs, the material should be removed with soap and water. If powder affects the eyes, they should be bathed immediately with copious quantities of clean water and if discomfort persists, medical attention should be sought without delay.

Product in action, Case Study – Crieff Water Treatment
Eco-friendly concrete release oil from Adomast Manufacturing Ltd has been extensively used in the construction of the UK’s highest water treatment works. The £30 million upgrade of Scottish Water’s Turret water treatment works is being carried out by construction partner GMJV, at a site that is over 1000 feet up in the mountains above Crieff in Perthshire. The project, which represents one of Scottish Water’s most significant investments, includes the construction of a…read more
