Bitumen Based Adhesive for Bonding Waterproof Felts
Adocoat FELT ADHESIVE is a cold applied, black oxidised bitumen based adhesive used to impart a very high bond strength for bonding felt to itself, concrete, asphalt, metal, wood and similar surfaces.
It is also suitable for use as a cold gritting solution for bonding chippings to final layer of felt.

Cold applied bituminous adhesive for bonding successive layers of roofing felt, also suitable for use as a lap cement and gritting adhesive.
For fixing roofing felt to roofing felt, concrete, metal and similar surfaces.
Ready to use
Suitable for binding mineral chippings to bituminous surfaces
Easy to apply with a brush, squeegee or mop
Contains bitumen/solvent blend
Apply on a clean and dry surface for better results
Ideal for bonding successive layers of roofing felt to wood, metal, asphalt and concrete
All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from loose material
Dusty and porous surfaces should be primed with Bitumen Primer
Stir before and occasionally during use
As Roofing Felt Adhesive: Apply by brush or broom and when tacky (after approx. 15 minutes), roll roofing felt into position and press down firmly When the adhesive is nearly dry (after approx. 6 hours) inspect the felt, any areas not adhered should be firmly pressed or rolled down
NOTE: It is not advisable to stick roofing felt directly to timber. When fixing felt to boarded roofs, the first layer of felt should be nailed
As Lap Cement: When nailing felt to wooden pitched roofs it is essential to seal laps to ensure they are watertight
Working up the roof, position first sheet allowing a 40mm overlap to eaves and gables
Fix by nailing at 600mm (2 ft.) centres, 20mm in from to edge
Carefully bend felt over gables and eaves and fix by nailing at 50mm centres
Position second and successive sheets allowing a minimum 75mm overlap on lower sheets and fix in a similar way
Hold back lower edge, apply to lap and press back into position and nail at 50mm centres along the lap
As a Gritting Adhesive: Roofing felt adhesive can be used for fixing grit or chippings over asphalt or roofing felt to provide a solar reflective coating
Coverage as a Roofing Felt Adhesive:: 0.25 m/2 – 2 m/2 per litre
Coverage as a lap adhesive: 20 linear metres @75mm per litre
Adomast Felt Adhesive is available in 5 and 25 litre containers. After use replace lid firmly and shake to ensure an airtight seal
Storage Life: Indefinite in undamaged, tightly sealed containers.
Containers must be kept sealed and stored away from sources of heat and ignition.

Care should be taken to avoid splashes entering eyes. Contact with skin should be avoided and hands washed thoroughly in the event of accidental contact. ADOCOAT Felt Adhesive should not be ingested. If splashes affect eyes, they should be bathed immediately with copious quantities of clean water and if discomfort persists medical attention should be sought without delay.
