Adotuf

SKU: ADOTUF

Concrete Surface Hardener & Dustproofer

Adotuf is a liquid silicate solution which when applied to cement bound floors case hardens the surface, rendering it dust proof even when subjected to wire brushing.

Adotuf will also impart oil, grease and dilute acid resistance to the floor.

The treated floor becomes more durable and longer lasting and is easier to clean.

Concrete Surface Hardener & Dustproofer

The application of ADOTUF to an existing cement-bound floor will significantly improve the properties of the floor to render it ADOTUF is a liquid chemical solution which when diluted with water and applied to existing cement-bound floors case-hardens the surface, rendering it dustproof even when subjected to wire-brushing. It also greatly improves resistance to deterioration due to spillage of oils, greases and acids. This is achieved by the special chemicals in ADOTUF which enter the pores and capillaries in the concrete and combine with free lime to form an extremely hard, chemically resistant crystalline material which becomes an integral part of the floor.
ADOTUF will greatly extend the life of both old and new floors. It not only considerably reduces floor maintenance and subsequent cleaning costs, but also reduces dust hazard to both health and machinery. Applying ADOTUF is quick and easy, and may be carried out by unskilled labour with only a minimum of interruption to floor usage. ADOTUF is a treatment for all cement-bound floors but will not be effective in binding together surfaces where the cement paste is of such poor quality that its surface is in a state of disintegration.

Advantages

• Dustproof

• Oil and grease proof
• Case hardened

• Resistant to dilute acids

• More durable

• Longer lasting
• Easier to clean

Application

Surface Preparation
Cement bound floors must be sound, clean, dry and free from oils, grease, fats, etc. New floors will require 7 -10 days to thoroughly dry out before treatment. Pores in the surface should be opened up by wire-brushing. Remove dust and loose particles with a soft broom.
First Application
Use as supplied onto standard surfaces. Apply uniformly onto a floor surface at 4-6m2 per litre using a low pressure sprayer at 30 -40 cms from the surface. Using a soft broom or roller work into the surface to avoid formation of puddles. Leave for 30 – 60 mins until the material begins to gel on the surface, then wet the surface and rework with roller or broom. If after 20 – 30 mins there is any product remaining on the surface it will need to be rinsed and squeegeed away.

If the surface is highly polished or dense then Adotuf can be diluted 1:1 with water to help the silicate solution penetrate and desify the surface level just beneath.

N.B. During application of ADOTUF it is advisable that rubber gloves and boots be worn. The material should not come into contact with glass or with painted or polished surfaces and any contact by splashes should be washed off immediately with water.

Coverage

As covering capacity is dependent upon floor porosity it is not possible to quote a specific figure. However, experience has shown that an average coverage of 5-7 m2 per litre of ADOTUF per coat may be expected.

Storage

Adotuf should be protected from frost Containers must be kept sealed after use. The product may require mild agitation before use if stored for more than 6 months.

Shelf Life

In excess of 12 months in sealed containers, use within 2 months of opening. Roll or agitate prior to use.

Specification

Adotuf is manufactured by Adomast Manufacturing Ltd and shall be applied strictly in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. For specific advice regarding any aspect of this product, please consult our Technical Department

Health and Safety

During application avoid contact with eyes and skin. In the event of eye contact irrigate immediately with copious quantities of water and then seek medical advice. In the event of skin contact, wash with soap and water
